Mattias Verstuyft is a post-doctoral researcher at Ghent University. His doctoral research focused on the building of a silcion integrated photonics platform for Terahertz waves with the purpose of creating a photoacoustic gas sensor to be integrated in packaged food in order to reduce food waste (Interreg's Terafood project). After finishing his PhD at Ghent University, he started as a post-doctoral researcher at imec where he managed several projects with both industrial and academic partners through the Actphast4.0, Actphast4R, and PhotonHub Europe projects funded by the European Commission. In February 2024 he started his current role as technical coordinator at ePIXfab, hosted by Ghent University.
